Guidelines:
DEAD BY DAWN:
- Dead
by Dawn Quarterly is copyright
Andrew Richmond And Shane Chebsey but copyright
of all contributors work remains with the
creator, and can be used elsewhere after
publication in Dead By Dawn.
- Contribution to
Dead By Dawn is by invitation only, although
creators are welcome to send us examples of your
work to be considered for future issues. However,
any work contributed must be an original story
not previously published elsewhere.
- The format of the
book is UK comic format, and the page limit for
each contributor is five pages. All stories must
be in black and white or greyscale, and submitted
as Jpegs at least 300dpi on a disk.
- Each contributor
will receive 1 free copy of the issue his or her
work appears in, and will have the opportunity
buy up to 20 copies of the anthology at the
reduced price of 2.60 plus P&P.
- Although no payment
is currently offered for pages in Dead By Dawn,
each contributor will have the opportunity to
advertise their own comic in the book.
- As well as the most
talented small press creators, there will also be
professional artists contributing to the
anthology, therefore we will be publishing as a
professional publication and keeping to a strict
deadline. Any work not in by the deadline will
not be included in the book.
- Writers wishing to
submit scripts will need to send their submission
in word format to scarcomics@smallpress.info at least four
weeks before the art deadline.
CREATOR
OWNED PROJECTS:
Scar Comics are always on the look out for
original stories from talented creators, who wish to get
their own book published, but have not been picked up by
other publishers, or can't afford to publish their own
books.
It works like this: We pay for the printing
and marketing of the book. You provide all artwork and
design (we can help with design if this is not to your
strength).
Once the book is published, and the costs
incurred by Scar Comics are made back through sales, we
split all profits with the creator/s 50/50.
Our funds are limited, and we will only
consider publishing work we personaly would want to read
ourselves. If you think you have something special that
would suit the Scar Comics line of titles, drop us a line
and we'll see what we can do.
