For
Publishers:
- How
much does it cost to have a listing in Frontline?
- A basic
listing in the catalogue is free to
all Club Members and Ruby Rate publishers.
- How many
shops do you send your front line catalogue to? - Frontline is an online catalogue,
available to all comics retailers worldwide.
We are also trying to branch out into alternative
venues such as skate shops music shops and book
stores.
- Is this a
printed mag or photocopied? - Frontline is a
professionally produced html catalogue in full colour and is
available as both a download and on disk by request.
- Can I stay
on the Gold Rate, and still advertise in
Frontline? - Unfortunately no, as retailers discounts
match the current Gold Rate, so I'd actually be
loosing money on every sale.
- Can larger
publishers advertise in Frontline too? - As many people know, most of the
large US publishers have an exclusive deal with
Diamond. However, any publisher, no matter how
large or small, is welcome to advertise in
Frontline, so long as they meet the desired
standards.
- Is there
any sort of material Frontline will not carry? - Frontline will not carry titles
that are insightful to hatred or violence, but
respect the freedom of every creator to voice
their opinion. Sexually explicit material is
accepted within certain boundaries, but will not
be illustrated within the catalogue, as the
catalogue is available to all ages. Listings of
such material will carry warnings.
- Does my
entry cover all my books? - Yes, but you will need to send specs for each
new title and each new issue you want listed.
- How often
does the catalogue come out? - The web pages are constantly updated with new titles.
- Will there
be the option to buy bigger, better listings ? -
Yes. Advertising is available via Google and Project wonderful. These ads can
help give your comic a higher profile in the
catalogue and grab a retailers attention. Also Club Members can
add featured listings of their new titles.
- Is the
catalogue something that people can buy, like
Previews is? - No Frontline
is totaly free for anyone who wants to download a copy. For disks
we just ask for you to send a Stamped addressed envelope.
- I only
print 200 copies of my book at a time, does this
mean I can't advertise in Frontline? - Not really. If you print 200
copies at a time, but produce professional work
and have a professional attitude there is no
reason you cannot advertise in Frontline. Just be
prepared for the possibility that you may have to
do a second or third printing to meet demand. If
you cannot meet demand for your title, you will
lose orders, and your reputation as a reliable
publisher would be damaged.
- Can
I have cheaper Membership, if I don't have a
listing in Frontline, or if I opt out of any of
the other benefits? - I'm afraid not. The membership
has been set up with a certain type of publisher
in mind: Those who are committed to their work,
and are looking to earn some money from their
publications. If you don't want to sell your
comics to retailers, or you don't intend to
publicise your work to a much wider readership,
you do not fit into this group. You will find the
Gold and Silver rates will better suit your
needs.
- As
I am an overseas publisher, sending multiple
deliveries out will be very costly is there a
solution for this? - Yes, over seas publishers will have shipping
dates attached to their listings, and an order deadline for
retailers. This will allow overseas publishers to send out their
books once a quarter and save on shipping costs. If you publish
graphic Novels and advertise in advance, shipping dates will be set
for each edition in
Frontline. For details of cheaper bulk shipping
from the US go to: www.smallzone.co.uk/shipping.htm
- When
will I receive payment for my comics? - Your account will be
settled every quarter, one quarter in arrears.
Any payments below 25 pounds will roll over to
the next quarter. If you are having any financial
difficulties you can request early payment, and
we will send you a payment as soon as possible.
For
retailers:
How do I get a
hold of more copies? - Just downlaod and print a copy, or print copies
from your disk.
What
discount do I get from comics and graphic novels?
- All items listed in Fontline are available at a
40% discount from our listed RRP. This can mean
huge savings on US tiltes thanks to our lower
RRPs.
What
are the delivery costs for my orders?
- We charge a flat delivery cost of just 12
pounds per carton. (Each carton contains around
50 - 100 comics depending on formats). There is no
minimum order, so if you only require a few items
email me and I'll arrange a lower delivery
charge, based on the weight of your order.
Overseas retailers will be invoiced at a 50%
discount of delivery costs.
Do
I get Sale or Return on my orders?
Yes. Unlike many other distributors smallzone
offer a sale or return policy, during a 60 day
credit period. Basically, you have 60 days to pay
your invoice. Any items returned within that time
will be credited to your account, so long as they
are in a saleable condition. Items not returned
or damaged will be invoiced. Returning
items is the retailers responsibility.
Can
I place more than 1 order within a quarter?
- Yes. All you have to do is telephone or email
us with your requirements. However, although we
hold many US titles in stock, some of these may
not be available until the next shipment date,
so please ask.
Can I set up a
standing order to get a copy of Frontline updates every
Quarter? -
Yes, you can email me, or telephone on
01952770013
What if I miss an
order deadline for overseas titles? - We will do our best to
get your titles to you within that quarter.
Whether or not a second shipping happens is up to
the publisher, and you will be informed as soon
as we have the information. Otherwise the order
will roll over to the next shipping date.
How soon will I
receive my UK titles after placing an order? - We try to carry as many
copies of UK titles in stock as possible.
Therefore you will usually receive your order
within 7 days. If there are any shortages or
delays in obtaining second printings you will be
notified immediately, and given the opportunity
to cancel the order.
